Engineered Wood Flooring

Clients can be misled by the word ‘engineered’ and therefore believe that it is a man made type of flooring i.e. Laminate.

However, engineered hardwood flooring is made up of a number of wood layers. The top surface of the flooring plank contains a layer of 100% real hardwood and the rest of the plank is made up of base layers that vary, but are usually made up of plywood, softwood cores, HDF or even cross bonded finger jointed wood.

Engineered hardwood flooring is extremely popular due to being more stable and versatile, allowing it to be floated, glued or pinned if the situation allows it, being a little more durable & forgiving than solid wood floors.

Under Floor Heating

Engineered floors have the advantage that they can be fitted over Under Floor Heating systems, where as historically solid wood floors can’t.
